How much does a week on a yacht cost in the Caribbean in February?

Catamarans: a week for the whole boat — median ≈€9,375, half of the boats from €6,878 to €12,383. Per berth per week — from €709, median ≈€995. 20%+ off — 17% of boats. Checked 19 Oct, 466 boats. Is February a good time to charter a yacht in the Caribbean?

February is peak season in the Caribbean: the best weather, the most boats out and the highest prices. Berths fill up by evening, and popular models are booked early. The Caribbean season runs December to April: dry, with a steady 15–20-knot trade wind. The most expensive weeks are Christmas, New Year and February–March. June to November is hurricane season: boats are cheaper, the weather riskier; May is a transition month. The fleet is mostly catamarans, booked 4–8 months ahead.

Is a yacht in the Caribbean cheaper in February than in the months around it?

Monohulls, median € per berth per week: January: €668; February: ≈€778; March: ≈€750. The cheapest month with numbers is October, at €510.

When should I book for February?

Last-minute deals appear 2–6 weeks before departure. The agent checks the market about every 6 days; an alert for the country and month sends new boats right after each check.

What else is paid at the base?

Transit log and final cleaning, fuel, marinas and the refundable deposit by a credit card not issued in Russia; a skipper if you need one. 30–70% prepayment on booking, the rest a month before departure.

Do I need a licence to charter a yacht?

For a bareboat charter (no skipper or crew provided), yes: a skipper's licence and, as a rule, a VHF radio certificate. Without a licence, we add a skipper, paid separately from the boat price.

Why do all charters run Saturday to Saturday?

99% of charter fleets worldwide work this way: the boat comes back on Friday evening and goes out to the next crew on Saturday morning. Other changeover days are possible in low season, by arrangement. In some destinations (the Caribbean, Cuba, France) you can add days beyond the week: +1, 2, 3 or 4 days.

Where the numbers come from and how to cite them

The RYC search agent checks the charter company portals MMK and NauSys and open booking sites about every 6 days; each boat is counted once per week, at the source price with no markup. You may cite the figures on this page with a link to it; every month and country is in the CSV and on the Prices page.
